Studer was a designer and manufacturer of professional audio equipment. It was founded by the legendary Willi Studer in Zurich, Switzerland in 1948. The company became known as the go to for studios and broadcasters. Today it is largely regarded as one of the best tape decks ever made; and rightfully so. There really isn't anything like the transport on a Studer.
- Replaced ALL electrolytic capacitors in ENTIRE machine
- Cleaned out chassis
- Replaced special chassis mount electrolytics from Nagravox (Modification made for replacement caps)
- Installed athan corp pinch roller - adjusted lifter travel / P/R pressure to spec
- Re-surfaced capstan
- Removed capstan motor grease cover and re-packed bearing with correct Kluber Constant grease (from nagravox)
- Secured tension sensor coils
- Installed relapped & NEW head ass'y from JRF
- Replaced VU meter lights, calibrated meters, cleaned controls in penthouse
- I/O level calibration 0 VU = 1.23Vrms = +4dBu
- Set tape tension
- Full repro / record alignment at all speeds - calibrated for 0 VU = 250nWb/m at 15,30ips and 200nWb/m at 3.75, 7.5ips, record cal'd for RTM SM911
